At the grocery in a town called Sunrise the light trickled over the bulletin board like luminous water. Everything she saw was constantly changing, flickering from what she’d just seen to what she was beginning to see. An unbroken breeze waved the surface, stirring the notes. After a while she uncovered an advertisement for a ceiling-fly supervisor, snapped it off the board, and slid it into the silk lining of her pocket.
